The Coffee Lovers’ Poetry Companion
Here is a sample from the book.
Science Experiment
In the bottom of your desk drawer
It’s resting sight unseen.
An almost empty coffee cup,
Its contents turning green.
How long it’s been forgotten.
When did it fall from grace?
No doubt the day the boss dropped by
It slipped into that place.
Since coffee cups on desktops
Are not the office mean,
In order to please your picky boss
Your desktop was swept clean.
And now below in drawer dark
The green stuff grows and glows.
Unloved and long forgotten
Until your seeking nose
Discovers the source of that odd smell.
Egads, a dirty cup!
It’s time to liberate your mug
And finally clean it up.
You’d better use hot water
And germ destructing soap.
Dispose of icky green and brown
For cleaner cup, we hope.
Now you cup is squeaky clean
Your office conscience, too.
Until your next experiment.
Creeps up, my friend on you.
Trust me, it will.
